Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on October 28, 1967 at Atlanta. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was the first Roberts to move to Atlanta. In the early years of his life his father became obsessed with theater. While a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both at and off campus. When he joined the Air Force and appearing in an airforce production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in the year 1955. Their child, Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter as well as his spouse left their Air Force service in, when they enrolled Walter as a student at Tulane University. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple their own. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it was in operation for a period of six years. They welcomed in 1965 two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
